C. R. Lenard, who?

 C. R. Lenard, a name of great respect and honor in my family though the original has long been gone. I continue to use the name to show respect to my great grandfather. The name is Calvin Ross Lenard, though the last name is now spelled Leonard instead of the original spelling of Lenard. Calvin Ross kept the original spelling until the day he died despite family arguments.

I like to be creative in an unusual way. I like writing fiction and fantasy. Dark stories seem to grab the emotion of fear and captivate people, though I can and sometimes do write more brighter and soothing pieces. I have no real fame or fortune and doubt I will ever achieve fame, the fortune part I'm working on 12 hours a day at a regular full-time job. This makes writing difficult to say the least as aside from work I have other things to do like taking care of household chores, mowing the lawn, taking my wife out to dinner...you know, the usual "life stuff" that happens no matter how tired you are.

I am writing this to give you an insight into who I am. Whether or not this makes a difference, I don't know, but it is recommended that one should talk about themselves a little so people can make an informed decision to follow or not. 


Today I will spend worrying, preparing, and thinking about the aftermath of Ian, a storm expected to hit the coast of Florida sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday. This storm affects me at home and at work. I am set to be one of the first responders to the storm as I am employed by one of the power companies here. This means my day will be 16 hours, 7 days a week until the restoration is complete. For those who are also facing a tough week or weeks, my thoughts are with you and I hope you are well. Until we read again, may your life be filled with excitement and your wallets filled with cash.

 Happy Halloween "It's so dark in here," I said trying to shift my weight before realizing I couldn't move. "Anyone there, hello?" I heard no response. I felt cold and... pressure? "What's going on?" My hand came free and I felt around me. The grit of something in my hands, it felt like dirt. I don't understand why there would be dirt in my bed. I don't understand why there is so much darkness. Back at it

 I rejoin you tonight with a simple message, I am alive and well. Ian zigged and zagged then zagged and zigged enough that it wasn't so bad in my area, though our hearts and minds are with those who did not fare as well. I will be back on my journey of writing for your entertainment this week. I think I need to sit down and compile a schedule first to keep up with everything I need to do. It seems that either I am getting more things that need fitting into my day or I am getting too old to keep up with it all - most likely Both! What are some topics you might want a story to be about?
